Sure it may be illegal, but, on most private server sites, they state that the servers are in no way affiliated with Jagex or any nature of that matter, the servers are made for fun intentional use. Also, most professional private servers also advise you not to use your real RuneScape account info because you can be hacked. Also, MoparScape has a webclient and doesn't require any download or anything, so that matter of getting a keylogger or something like that cannot happen in this case. Last thing, I am in no way affiliated with any RuneScape private servers, I am only knowledgeable about these private servers because of information given to me by my friend and some research.
